DPam in Italy and me too !

And here are some of the photos from my daytrip to Milan last Thursday.

DPam also exists in Italy for the past 10 years with nearly 40 stores.

They say “Du Pareil Au Même” like in France but with an Italian accent,

(yes they do, I heard them!).

 After an early take-off from Roissy, ( 7 am),

visit to the Italian offices in Milan where we discovered a team in flesh and bone.

I could finally place a name with a face or an email address !

I happily accept a coffee (Italian !!) which I relish because it will help keep me going through the day. 

Then a business meeting, a visit to the Dpam store, Via Dante

Seeing the inside of a DPam shop, where everything is written in Italian, is impressive. 

It anchors a reality which can seem virtual.  

Lunch break and  observation of the shopping streets in Milan which are very animated. 

because it is Italian fashion week.

 It is 4 pm, time to return to the airport. 

The plane isn’t late, I will be on time to pick up my little ones that can’t wait to see me.

Today, I invite you on a guided tour of the premises where I arrive every morning.

If you come here, starting in the entryway, you will see our windows. 

They are the same as those found in the stores,  DPam children, DPam shoes and DPam baby.

Next you would perhaps walk in front of a library of fabric samples. 

This library is used by stylists and buyers for the prints and the different qualities of cotton or wool.  

Don’t be surprised to see a lot, and I mean really a lot of clothes …

These are the  prototypes, archives and clothes that you will see in 2 to 3 months in stores or on dpam.com.

 Here is a behind the scenes look at the last photo session for the winter collection which I worked on for DPam. We spent an entire day (a very hot 95°F) in a circus that was full of charm.

And we had the chance to have a clown with us who added a magical dimension to our photos. For those that remember, this clown was in the Island of Children.

His name is Boboss.

There are intense periods at DPam and right now it is very very intense !

Pressure is mounting.

the end of the season here also rhymes with the beginning of the season along with the sales and add to all that the famous back-to-school. Three dossiers, 3 work-sites, meetings are geared down. Everything has to be finished before everyone leaves on vacation. So, let’s stay concentrated, no need to panic!!

Here is a group of girls that does a lot of work for us. They take care of the shop windows, special store events, the club for Mothers, DPam.com, everything for hundreds of stores and thousands of mothers.

Is there someone to refill the basket of pastries ??

This afternoon in front of the Director of Style’s office at Du Pareil au même (Natacha, dressed in white, mother of 3 boys), I discovered a meeting which many mothers would like to have attended: the trends for Winter 2011.

We won’t reveal anything for the moment, but know that in the textile industry, we work simultaneously on 3 to 4 seasons at the same time: The summer collection that is currently in stores, the winter collection for back-to-school, the 2011 summer collection for buying and the 2011 winter collection for design.

Very soon I will talk about trends that concern us for the moment…the 2010 winter trends.
